Are You Having Fibromyalgia Morning Stiffness

How to Relieve Fibromyalgia Morning Stiffness

Morning stiffness can take its toll on fibro sufferers. This is especially true if you’re already suffering from other severe symptoms. If you have stiffness on your joint and muscles, going to work can become difficult. In fact, even driving a car or getting out of bed can be such a pain. Here are some ways to get relieve from morning stiffness:

  • Avoid sleeping in the cold as it can stiffen your body. Adjust your air conditioner when necessary
  • Cultivate good sleeping posture such as lying on your back or your side. Bad sleeping postures can cause aches and stiffness. It could help if you use a good pillow.
  • Soaking in a nice hot bath or taking a hot shower. This can better blood circulation, induce relaxation and relieve muscle spasms.
  • Do some easy stretching on your bed. It can help to promote blood circulation and loosen your muscles. You will find it easier to stretch after a hot bath or shower

With regular movement and exercise, your morning stiffness can get better. But if the pain gets severe, it’s best to consult with a health practitioner. They are the best persons who can provide the best relief out there.

I have all the symptoms of stiffness you mention and cannot ignore a painful left hip. Fibro started in about 1983.

I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia 22 years ago and honestly the worst symptom is the all over stiffness that can last for hours and produces such chronic pains. I wish there was a treatment we could all use that really worked.

Have just heard from my GP that my left hip is worn out (knackered was the comment!) ! Last time I had a hip replacement I had strong pains in my thigh once the epidural had worn off. Not looking forward to that again!
