The FM/a Test Measures Specific Protein Levels in Patients

Another method being researched is being developed by EpicGenetics of Santa Monica, Calif., called the FM/a test. This test has proven to be very accurate. It measures a specific protein found in your body that helps combat pain. Individuals with fibromyalgia do not produce a normal quantity of this protein.

Using a similar method to the vibrational spectroscopy test, they tested individuals suffering from lupus and rheumatoid arthritis alongside healthy individuals and others with a formal diagnosis.

This type of test identified patients with the condition with an accuracy of ninety-three percent.
