Celiac disease is a type of autoimmune condition that will cause your immune system to attack your digestive tract. This usually happens after you eat foods with gluten. Furthermore, having celiac disease may make you more prone to some other autoimmune diseases, including autoimmune thyroid disease. Thus, it is not surprising why some people who are suffering from other autoimmune diseases like type 1 diabetes also have celiac disease. In addition, autoimmune thyroid disorders are also said to be a risk factor for depressive and emotional disorders.
