What is EMDR?

EMDR stands for Eye Moment Desensitization and Reprocessing. It is a fast acting approach of repairing mental trauma. This was designed originally to treat distress as a result of traumatic memories, including those associated with post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). This process works by stimulating the conditions required for the mental processing of information. The treatment is most specifically applicable to conditions that are associated with the REM sleep.
