9. Brain Fog
Brain fog happens when your brain is unable to function well, resulting in being forgetful, inability to think clearly and difficulty thinking. It has been found that about 40% of individuals who are gluten intolerant often have a foggy mind. This may be due to a reaction against the presence of antibodies in gluten, although the real reason behind this is still not yet known.
10. Pain in Muscles and Joints
It is common to feel pain in our muscles and joints. However, there are theories suggesting that people suffering from celiac disease have an over-sensitive nervous system. Because of this, they tend to have a lower threshold to stimulate the sensory neurons that can trigger pain in the joints and muscles. If you are gluten intolerant, your exposure to gluten will cause inflammation and this can result in widespread pain in your body.
