1. Bloating
Bloating is when you feel like your belly is swollen after eating, which can be frustrating. Even though bloating can be due to many reasons, this is also a common symptom of gluten intolerance. In fact, most people who have gluten intolerance would complain about feeling bloated. It has been found in one study that 87% of those who may have non-celiac gluten sensitivity has experienced feeling bloated.
2. Diarrhea
It is normal to suffer from diarrhea or constipation occasionally. However, if this is happening too often, then this may be due to the fact that you are gluten intolerant. Those who have celiac disease will suffer from inflammation on their small intestines right after consuming gluten. The damage to the gut lining will lead to digestive discomfort, which explains the reason behind diarrhea or constipation. In addition, those who have celiac disease may excrete foul-smelling feces because of the poor absorption of nutrients.
