Knowing The Triggers of Fibromyalgia Flares
Fibromyalgia flares can happen out of the blue with no apparent reason. Some patients are able to anticipate when a flare is about to come. It usually happens when they are experiencing more physical or emotional stress and pressure. Some of the most common triggers of flares may include:
- an upcoming menstrual period
- holiday season
- peak times at work
- temperature changes
However, at times, unpredictable situations like receiving bad news, a sudden injury, a virus infection or getting into a minor accident may trigger symptom flares.
