2. Fatigue and muscle weakness
Fatigue is another sign of hypomagnesemia. Fatigue refers to both physical and psychological exhaustion. It can be exhibited by general weakness or lack of energy. There is no doubt that fatigue is a very common ailment and can be caused by countless reasons. Most of the time it is simply your body telling you to rest. However, persistent fatigue can be a sign of a health issue such as magnesium deficiency. This is especially so when it co-occurs with other symptoms.
Muscle weakness, on the other hand, is a telling sign of low magnesium. It is believed that low magnesium levels lead to the reduction of potassium within muscle cells hence resulting in muscle weakness.
