Exercisng with Fibromyalgia
Start with 2 minutes a day of low impact exercises
There is ample evidence that can support that regular exercise done in careful moderation can help fight off the symptoms of fibromyalgia. For a start, an ideal exercise regimen for fibromyalgia patients should only consist of 2 minutes of low impact exercises each day. Low impact exerises include simple yoga, pilates, stretching, taichi, walking, swimming etc. Patients who have better physical capacity, can probably manage to do a 10 to 20 minutes of exercises every day. The key to exercising with fibromyalgia is to be consistent and not push yourself too hard.
Do only what you can manage. Start with a few minutes of exercise each day. You may consider to increase the length of exercise time when your body has developed strength and tolerance to exercise.
