Fibromyalgia Myth: You Should Avoid Exercise
Fact – The American College of Rheumatology has revealed that exercise has been proven to be effective in the treatment of fibromyalgia.
In particular, low impact exercise has been very useful in minimizing the symptoms of fibromyalgia. These exercises include swimming, walking, and water aerobics.
However, some medical experts believe that strength training and stretching may be useful for most patients. Strength training involves using exercise machines, weights, exercise bands, or even your own body weight.
While it is true that exercising with fibromyalgia can be difficult or painful, performing regular physical activities may help to relieve you of some of the fibromyalgia symptoms in the long run.
