According to The National Fibromyalgia Association (NFA), fibromyalgia affects 10 million adults in the US. They revealed that 75 to 90 percent of patients who were diagnosed with fibromyalgia are women. This means that 10-25% of people diagnosed with fibromyalgia are men. It also means that there are about 1 million to 2.5 million men who were diagnosed with the condition in the US.
However, some medical experts believe that the actual number of men with fibromyalgia is even higher because gender-based bias may have played a role in how some doctors will diagnose fibromyalgia.
