Yeast

Yeast and gluten come hand in hand as yeast is used to make most wheat-based products such as bread, baked goods, pasta and noodles. Yeast consumption encourages growth of yeast in the body which could ignite a series of yeast infections in the vagina, gut or intestines. These infections lead to more discomfort and pain. In particular, yeast infections also prevent patients from absorbing nutrients from food. It was found that fibromyalgia patients who refrain from food containing yeast showed improvements in their condition in the long term.

Tip: A gluten-free diet can also mean a yeast-free diet.
