Interstitial Cystitis In Fibromyalgia

Combining Multiple Treatments

If you are getting treatment for IC, FMS, CFS, or a combination of these conditions, inform your doctor about possible drug interaction. For instance, it’s not safe to take SSRI or SNRI-type antidepressant medications altogether. These are some of the most common treatments for fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome, where tricyclic antidepressants are used mainly for interstitial cystitis.

However, the tricyclic antidepressants that are being prescribed for IC could work well for FMS or CFS. Furthermore, other treatments including biofeedback and physical therapy may also provide some crossover benefits. Food sensitivities may also exacerbate more than one of these conditions. Thus, eliminating certain foods from your diet might also help.

This was some very good information. I always read these post regarding Fibromyalgia. The more I learn the more I feel that I’ve been living with this condition as far back as my teenage years. Even though I was 50+ when I was diagnosed. I can honestly say that I have noticed every symptom ever posted relating to Fibromyalgia.
Thanks so much for the valuable information.
