Causes of Fibromyalgia Foot Pain – Myofascial Pain
Another condition that is also common in fibromyalgia patients and something that involves the fascia is known as the myofascial pain syndrome. This condition has something to do with those tiny rope-like nodules in the fascia that is known as the trigger points.
In one study, researchers suggest that pushing the trigger points can reproduce the pain on the foot of participants. They have also discovered a high level of sensitivity to pressure in the foot’s plantar region.
Other Causes of Foot Pain in Fibromyalgia
Foot pain in fibromyalgia may also be a result of an overlapping pain condition. These include conditions such as:
- Rheumatoid Arthritis
- Raynaud’s Syndrome
- Lupus
Regardless of the reason behind foot pain, there is no doubt that fibromyalgia can amplify the pain in the same way that it does with some other pain in your body.
