Biofeedback For Fibromyalgia

biofeedback for fibromyalgia

Biofeedback for fibromyalgia is said to help relieve pain and stiffness. If you are suffering from morning stiffness and constant pain due to fibromyalgia, biofeedback therapy may just be the right treatment for you.

What is Biofeedback?

Biofeedback is a type of alternative therapy for treating psychological and mental illnesses. It is based on a theory that influencing your body with your own willpower can reduce fibromyalgia symptoms.

The therapy uses a machine in recording electric impulses that the body emits. This can be in the form of muscle twitches, brainwaves and temperature. The machine provides “feedback” of these impulses to you through beeps and lights displayed on a monitor. For instance, if your body temperature increases, the number of beeps you will hear also increases.

The main objective of the therapy is to look for ways to lessen the amount of beeps and lights that the machine feeds to you. By doing so, your body’s electrical impulses reduce as well as your symptoms. With proper practice, you should be able to apply this technique even without a machine.

      Hi Sharon
      I googled biofeedback for fibromyalgia
And several local places where they we doing the biofeedback in my area came up.
      I would suggest trying that.
If you are using your phone having your location on help. Otherwise they will list them all over place.
Feel better. I hope it works for you.
      I’m considering trying it myself.
