Vitamin D is essential to healthy bones as it ensures that our body and bone cells get the calcium they need. Therefore, if you experience pain in your back and bones, it could be a sign of vitamin D deficiency. Several studies have found evidence of the connection. In a particular study of 9000 mature women, scientist discovered that participants with low levels of vitamin D were more susceptible to back pain. Some experience severe back pain which hinders their everyday routines. Another separate study found that vitamin D deficiency almost double the likelihood of having bone pain particularly in the ribs, lower limbs and joints.
