The prompt movement of stool within the intestine will leave little time for water to be absorbed. This will result in loose tools characterized by diarrhea. IBS can also cause the mucus to accumulate in the stool.
The presence of blood in the stool can be a sign of another condition, which may be a potentially serious medication condition that requires a visit to your doctor. The blood in your stool will appear red, although it can also get very dark with tarry consistency.
