Take a warm water shower

Start your day with a warm bath. This should be the first thing that you must do when you wake up in the morning. Soaking in a warm water for around 10 minutes is enough to give you relief from the stiffness of the muscles. The warm water bath can be taken before going to the bed as well and you may get the same relief in next morning.

Say no to coffee

Majority of us have the habit of starting our day with a hot cup of coffee. A cup of coffee provides us with a quick boost of energy when you feel tired and exhausted. Unfortunately, this should be completely avoided if you have fibromyalgia because the chronic pain disorder has a strong association with poor sleep. Coffee should be avoided as much as possible as it might further mess with your sleep cycle and also cause other complications.

Indulge in moderate exercises

We know this is tough but don’t stop moving because of fibromyalgia pain. If possible, consult with your doctor and plan to incorporate low to moderate level work out and exercise therapy into your treatment. Brisk walking, tai chi, light yoga and water aerobics are considered as the best options when you have issues of muscle pains and fatigue. When you keep moving and exercising, your muscles gain strength and flexibilty which are essential for alleviating muscle pain and stiffness.

Find your sleep back

Adequate quality sleep is perhaps one of the most crucial aspects to reducing fibromyalgia pain. This is because when you don’t have enough sleep, the symptoms like the fatigue, muscle pain and cramps, spasms, and weakness worsens. Try to fix your sleep while trying to manage your pain. Ensuring a fixed sleeping time for 7 to 8 hours is the first step you must take to improving sleep. Next, work to find the most effective ways to help you sleep better for instance, drink a relaxing non-caffeinated herbal tea, take a warm bath before bedtime, use essential oil(s), do a self-massage on your acupoints or even exercise in the day.
