Fibromyalgia Pain Relief Tip – Low Dose Naltrexone

How to Use Low Dose Naltrexone for Fibromyalgia Pain Relief?

Low Dose Naltrexone for fibromyalgia requires the regular use of low doses in treating symptoms. It should not be mistaken for normal Naltrexone, which is of a higher dosage, for treating addiction to opioid and alcohol.

Although initial studies showed promising results in fibromyalgia pain relief, it is important to note that it is not an official drug for fibromyalgia. Therefore, currently, it is still difficult for a fibro patient to have access to Naltrexone. This because its ability in treating fibromyalgia is not yet well understood. Doctors may be reluctant in prescribing the drug to fibro patients. However, current studies are ongoing to test the drug. More evidence will help scientists and doctors determine if indeed, Naltrexone is an effective treatment.

Considerations

If you believe that Naltrexone can help you with your fibromyalgia, discuss with your doctor. Ask for a prescription of the medication. Like any drugs in the market, it comes with side effects which you and your doctor have to consider.

I am using LDN based on a protocol from UAB Dr. Jarred Younger’s neuroscience research lab. Under my PCP, I learned to grind up a 50 mg pill and add 30 ml. of water to it in a brown cough syrup bottle from the pharmacy. I then pull out 5 ml. between 9 pm and 2 am, with an oral syringe. So, 5 pills a month and each pill gives me 6 days of relief.
