In the study published in the Clinics Journal, researchers investigated the reason behind the coexistence of fibromyalgia and mastalgia. They studied how both these conditions affect pain patterns of women. The study consisted of 114 female participants. 61 of these women were suffering from breast pain while the remaining 53 had been diagnosed with fibromyalgia. All of the patients in the study had complained about breast pain.
This include patients who had suffered from mastalgia 3 months before the study has even started. They were all under the fibromyalgia group of patients. Furthermore, all participants were required to answer a Breast Pain questionnaire during the study. In addition, the patients under the mastalgia group were also screened for fibromyalgia. This is to determine the coexistence of the two conditions.

I all so have IBS Which is got so bad .
I have hand tremors taking meds that somewhat help. But the most aggravating is fine motor skill problem in my hands. Is this a fibro issue as well?
I’ve had alot of breast pain over the years – sharp stabbing pains often followed by itching and aching. Always my left breast. Tweaking the nipple hard was the only way of countering it til the discomfort subsided. I originally put it down to monthly cycles, but then it continued into menopause. Unfortunately for me, it morphed into DCIS which necessitated a lumpectomy – all discovered through routine mammogram and not something I could have found myself as it was the milk ducts.
My point is, please don’t be lulled into thinking the pain/ache is simply down to fibro. Getting regular mammograms is a must and keep an eye out for trouble.
Hi Sammy does it worked tweaking the nipple I’m going to try that, my pain is also in left breast it feels so heavy too, I really want to saw it off, the pain is always there, then sharp pains too I’ve punched it quite a few times,(It didn’t really help much)
