Digestive and Menstrual Problems
Although it’s not yet clearly understood as to how CFS, FMS, and digestive problems are related, one theory is that all these conditions have something to do with serotonin.
Irritable Bowel Syndrome
Those who have IBS tend to suffer from alternating bouts of diarrhea and constipation. They also have to deal with frequent pain in the abdomen. Some other symptoms are vomiting, nausea, bloating, gas, and abdominal distention. Most people who have IBS do not usually seek medical care. But it’s important that they do. IBS could result in dehydration or malnutrition, and possibly depression.
Interstitial Cystitis
Interstitial cystitis is a result of an inflamed bladder wall. This can get very painful and is often misdiagnosed as UTI or Urinary Tract Infection. Most people who have interstitial cystitis won’t get proper diagnosis until after four years of having the condition. Women are said to be ten times more likely to end up with IC. The symptoms are urgency to urinate, frequent urination, and pain during intercourse.
