Tart Cherries

Tart cherries contain the necessary hormone, melatonin, that helps with sleep. A derivative of cherries, tart cherry juice is especially effecive in promoting good sleep fast and treat insomnia. In a clinical study, subjects were asked to drink tart cherry juice since it contained an abundance of melatonin. During the study, it was found that those who suffered from severe insomnia experienced better sleep than before after drinking two cups of tart cherry juice a day.


Kale or Spinach

This green leafy vegetable contains huge reserves of calcium, which helps the brain use tryptophan in the production of melatonin that promotes sleep. In addition, studies have shown that people who are deficient in calcium are more prone to poor sleep patterns and REM.
