Orphenadrine is also commonly prescribed by doctors for fibromyalgia muscle pain. Orphenadrine, unlike the above two muscle relaxant, can be used for a prolonged period which means you can use this drug daily to control the rigorous muscle pain with much less chances of developing an addiction to the drug. Some common side effects of the drug are light-headedness, restlessness, muscle weakness, headache and pupil changes in the eyes.

Tizanidine is prescribed for relief of muscle tension and stiffness. Tizanidine is known to lower blood pressure resulting in side effects of drowsiness, light-headedness and dizziness. In fact, a survey found that the drug causes drowsiness in 1 out of every 2 patients on it. To reduce side effects, it is recommended that patients start with a low dosage of 4mg and gradually increase to the optimal dosage of 8mg. The drug should be limited to three doses daily and not more than 36 mg within a day. It can cause other side effects like dry mouth, blurred vision, increased urination, constipation, vomiting, leaky nose and problem with speech.
