Although a rare disease, records of fibromyalgia date back as early as the 1800s. However, despite the history of the pain disorder, researchers and doctors remain clueless for a cure for the illness. The current medications available are used to control certain symptoms of the pain disorder but never to fix the root of the problem. With a slow medical progress pertaining to fibro, we are seeing a shift in the treatment of the illness. Many fibromyalgia experts are encouraging a change in lifestyle and diet to manage the pain instead of relying on the endless medication.
