Why is Fibromyalgia often misdiagnosed?

Inconsistent symptoms
Again, fibromyalgia is difficult to diagnose because of the inclination for clusters of symptoms to exist together among fibromyalgia patients. However, these groups aren't standard across the board for all fibromyalgia patients. So, not everyone suffering from fibromyalgia will complain of the same symptoms. Again, since the symptoms could belong to any set of diseases with common symptoms, doctors should first rule them out before zeroing in on fibromyalgia.

Absence of a diagnostic tool
Misdiagnosis of fibromyalgia is common as there is no one diagnostic tool such as an X-ray or blood test to rule out all other possibilities and hone in on fibromyalgia.
