Lavender, Peppermint and Basil Oil

Mix 3 drops of lavender oil in a bowl of boiling water. Soak a towel in it and put it over your head, breathe in the scent, or just massage the diluted oil onto your forehead and temples. Basil oil and peppermint oil should be used in the same fashion; you need to dilute it down to a 10% solution while applying to the forehead and temples. For intense headaches, you can use a powerful combination of all 3 oils.

Cold Compress or Ice Pack

The cold sensation constricts blood vessels pressing on the nerves that cause headaches and pain, which is why this remedy is quite effective in terms of providing relief. Use an ice or cold compress and apply to the forehead and/or back of your neck, at the base of the skull. Leave there for sometime and alternate between the two areas after a few minutes.

Vicks Vapour rub

This home remedy always works and produces amazing results when it comes to migraine! Just rub some onto your forehead and temples then lie back, relax and breathe in the vapors. Repeat on an hourly basis till you experience total relief.
