What Causes Fibromyalgia Tactile Allodynia Pain?

The pain is often a result of malfunctioning of specialized nerves known as nociceptors. Their main task is to sense information of the things going on around you, such as temperature, to prevent harm to your skin.

For instance, your hand would flinch immediately away from a hot burner even before you realize that you will burn yourself. This is a result of the nociceptors. They function on their own without the need to send signals to the brain to receive a response.

In fibromyalgia, nociceptors begin perceiving all types of painful sensations when there is none. Experts believe that this is one of the consequence of central sensitization associated with fibromyalgia. This includes chronic fatigue syndrome and several other conditions.

Bonnie, yes I get random rashes, but apparently 400$ later I’m not allergic to anything . They start in a spot ( say my side) and seem like it moves, if that makes since. It will ” crawl ” from back to front. Or wherever it wants to go, itchy and red. And then it just stops.

I have severe fibromyalgia and have had sleepless nights due to pain and I have to take pain meds just to make it through the day. My sleep gets messed up a lot. There will be times that I feel hard like a statue that’s slowly cracking. I’ve also explained this by using the Tin man as an example…I feel like I need oil everywhere! I also have a very messed up lower back. My husband got me through the beginning of this disease, he was awesome!! I was really depressed about having it! But over time and with a great doctor, I make it much better than I used to…..a lot more days. I got good enough to take care of him the best that I could while he had brain cancer, brain surgery, radiation, and the chemo(that eventually killed him). He is forever 41♥️ It’s been a devastating loss!!!! I try to be like him. His kindness, his outlook on life(that’s a hard one with chronic pain), his wonderful, well-known sense of humor laughter is the best medicine!! It’s so hard with him gone, but I have to tell myself suck it up, buttercup!!! Because I’m still here, and there are always other people, even children that have it a lot worse off than me!! Knowing that God has got me and that I know I will see my lovely husband in heaven where…I will not be in any pain and neither will all the other Christians. Don’t get me wrong!! It’s tough. I just focus on my son, daughter, and grand baby!! They bring me joy. As does my faith.
