Monosodium Glutamate

Glutamate is a type of amino acid and can be found in many natural food sources such as tomato, cheese, soy, mushrooms, seaweed. However, it is more commonly known as monosodium glutamate (MSG), an ingredient that is commonly used as a food additive and in medications as well. MSG is believed to affect health negatively.

Some healthcare experts believe that MSG is harmful to those who have fibromyalgia. However, there are also those who think otherwise. It is widely believed that by eliminating MSG from their diet, they would be able to prevent some of the symptoms that come with chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia. However, these claims are not backed by medical science.
