Extra Virgin Olive Oil

If you lubricate those aching joints thoroughly with olive oil, it will work wonders for joint pain. However, this effect is compounded if you use extra virgin olive oil (EVOO). It has a component called oleocanthal that suppresses inflammatory enzymes COX-1 and COX-2. You can take 2 to 3 tablespoons daily, but since it is high in calories, you need to give up other foods containing fat. For best results rub the oil directly onto sore joints by massaging twice a day.

Epsom Salt Soak

This type of salt contains magnesium sulfate, which plays a crucial role in terms of pain relief, as it has high levels of magnesium, which is required by the body to sustain healthy functionality. Fill a big bowl with warm water, pour a ½ cup of Epsom salt, stir, and soak your sore joints. If the pain has spread to other parts of the body, take a warm bath with these salts.
